Chinese attraction tickets are sold under a real-name system tied to your passport, most booking platforms and payments run through WeChat or Alipay, release windows for popular sites open days in advance and sell out within minutes, and many major museums close on Mondays. Independent travel in China is entirely possible, but these are the specific points where foreign travelers most often lose days. If you are comfortable working around them yourself, a Plan Only itinerary at $399 gives you the routing without the booking service.

Multi-city itineraries of two weeks or more are the most common request we handle, typically linking Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai and one or two regional destinations by high-speed rail or domestic flight. At the Plan & Book level, from $2,500 per person, we make the hotel, rail, flight and attraction reservations for you. At the Leave It With Us level, from $10,000 per group, private guides and drivers are arranged for the full duration.

Domestic transport, hotels and timed attraction reservations are booked on your behalf under the Plan & Book and Leave It With Us levels, which removes the real-name ticketing and domestic-payment obstacles that foreign passport holders run into. A 30% deposit of the total trip cost confirms a booking, with the balance due 30 days before departure. Small-group and private long-stay bookings share the same cancellation schedule: 31 or more days out, 20% of the total; 8–30 days, 50%; 7 days or fewer including no-show, 70%. Boundary days use the lower charge, and a month is 30 calendar days. Short experiences are paid in full at booking. Refunds are processed within 20 days of your written cancellation.

Every service level includes a direct WhatsApp line to your travel consultant for the duration of the trip, answered within three hours during our service window of 08:00 to 24:00 China time, seven days a week. Messages sent overnight are answered the following morning. The Leave It With Us level adds private guides and drivers on the ground throughout, who are reachable while you are travelling.

No. Our itineraries schedule no stops at commission-based tourist shops or factory stores, and this is written into our booking terms rather than only promised on a marketing page. The one exception we cannot route around is that a few attractions have a gift shop at their own entrance or exit, which the walking route passes through. Shopping stops exist in this industry because they pay the operator a commission; that is not how our pricing works, which is why the planning fee and service levels are published up front.
