Itinerary
01.Imperial Beijing and the Great Wall — Beijing
Palaces, Hutongs and the Great Wall
Why it earns its place
Beijing is the natural starting point for this China Golden Triangle route. It gives the journey its imperial scale, while the Great Wall and Hutong visit quickly move the experience beyond palace halls.
The Beijing chapter begins in the historic center, with Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City setting the scale of the capital. The route then widens to the Temple of Heaven and Yonghe Temple before leaving the city for Mutianyu Great Wall, where the round-way cable car helps reduce walking time and keeps the day more comfortable. Back in old Beijing, Shichahai’s Hutong lanes offer a slower contrast to the palace halls, and the Summer Palace closes the chapter with Kunming Lake, Longevity Hill, and imperial garden scenery before the high-speed train to Xi’an.

02.Terracotta Warriors and Ancient Walls — Xi’an
Qin, Tang and Muslim Quarter
Why it earns its place
Xi’an gives the route its deeper ancient-history layer. It reaches back to the Qin and Tang periods, with the Terracotta Army as the central experience and the old city adding a more lived-in texture.
The Xi’an chapter is anchored by the Terracotta Army Museum, including the main burial pits and the new exhibition hall. The mini Terracotta Warrior DIY experience adds a small hands-on moment after the archaeological visit. Inside the city, the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda and the Great Tang All Day Mall area bring in Tang-style atmosphere, while the City Wall and nearby park show how local life continues around the old defenses. The Great Mosque and Muslim Quarter round out Xi’an with a different cultural texture, from Chinese-Islamic architecture to local snacks such as Rou Jia Mo, hot oil noodles, Yangrou Paomo, fried dumplings, and Zeng Gao, before the flight to Shanghai.

03.Gardens and the Huangpu Skyline — Shanghai
Museums, Gardens and River Views
Why it earns its place
Shanghai changes the rhythm of the journey. After Beijing and Xi’an, it gives the route a lighter, more contemporary finish through gardens, museum collections, river views, and skyline architecture.
The Shanghai chapter begins with Shanghai Museum, then moves into the classical paths and pavilions of Yu Garden and the surrounding bazaar. A farewell lunch featuring Shanghai and Cantonese cuisines is part of the route before the city opens onto the Huangpu River. From the water, the cruise connects the historic buildings of the Bund with the modern skyline across the river, creating the strongest visual finale of the trip. Tianzifang adds one last neighborhood scene before the private airport transfer on departure day.
