The name of Butterfly Spring came from a famous love story in China, “Liang Shanbo & Zhu Yingtai”. Like Romeo and Juliet , Liang from a poor family met Zhu in the Imperial Junior Colleage and soon fell in love, but Zhu’s father compelled her to marry a landlord so they decided to suicide to protect their love. Then after they died, they were said to become butterflies, and lived in this Butterfly Spring. Around every April 15th of lunar calendar, somehow millions of butterflies would gather in this place.
