# China Visa Photo Tool

A free, fully client-side tool that converts an ordinary portrait into a photo that meets the Chinese visa application requirements. All processing (face landmark detection, background removal, cropping, compression) happens in the browser — photos are never uploaded to a server.

## What it produces

- Print file: 390×567 px JPEG at a true 300 DPI (33×48 mm) for photo labs.
- Digital file: 385×560 px JPEG within 40–120 KB, sized for the COVA online visa application form.

## Photo requirements it enforces automatically

- Photo size 33 mm wide × 48 mm high.
- Head height (hair top to chin) between 28 mm and 33 mm.
- Head top 3–5 mm from the top edge; chin at least 7 mm from the bottom edge.
- Head facing the camera: sideways turn within 20°, up/down tilt within 25°; small head tilts are straightened automatically.
- Eyes open and mouth naturally closed (checked from facial landmarks).
- Pure white background with no shadows (AI portrait matting plus semantic cleanup).

## Requirements flagged for manual review

- Photo taken within the last 6 months.
- Both ears visible; hair not covering eyebrows or eyes.
- Religious headwear must not obscure facial features.
- Prints must be on glossy photo paper.
