## Overview

You have been in Guangzhou a week already, all of it in a booth. So this plan asks you to arrive nowhere, unpack nothing and change no hotel. Day one gives the week's samples somewhere physical: three hours at a smart factory, then the riverside plaza and the towers the Greater Bay Area shows the world. Day two drives forty-five minutes into Foshan, where you eat for two hours before you look at anything, then sit down in a temple courtyard for the drums. Day three is a transfer and nothing else. Two working days, one bag that never moves, and by the drive home you'll notice the week has stopped being a list of suppliers.

- (dining) — two hours at a long-established teahouse, mid-morning, before anything else on the day. Shrimp dumplings, siu mai, rice rolls and the season's dim sum arrive a few plates at a time. The pot keeps being refilled for as long as you sit. Morning tea here is how people socialise, not just how they eat, which is why the plan puts it first instead of squeezing it in. Somewhere in the second hour you'll notice the table has stopped talking about deliveries.

- Other meals: Everything other than the day-two morning tea. Lunches and dinners are guide-recommended and guide-booked, on your account
- Day three sightseeing: The departure day includes no sightseeing
- Visas: Visa fees and visa processing, for any guest who requires a Chinese visa
- Single-room supplement: Not applicable, since the base price holds no nights. If we book the extra nights, the room type and rate are stated in writing in that quote
- Personal: Gratuities and personal spending
- Optional add-ons: Priced separately at the time you choose them. Nothing optional is added into the base plan

### Special Notes

A few things on this route follow someone else's calendar. Here they are, told straight.

- Day three is a departure day with no included content: This plan comprises two full days of arrangements plus a transfer on the third. We state this before payment on every order, in these words.
- The factory visit follows the factory's calendar: the factory sets its own visitor days. We confirm your requested date with them before your order is taken. If they cannot receive visitors that day, we do not sell that date, and we offer you the dates they can receive instead.
- Departure dates follow the fair calendar: This plan only runs after the fair closes, so sellable departure dates are set from the officially published dates of the 140th Canton Fair. If those dates have not been published yet, or your date does not sit right after the closing day, we do not sell it.
- Selling window: This plan is anchored to the autumn fair session, October and November 2026. December departures are not taken until a December session is confirmed in writing on our side.
- Visa-free markets: UK, European and Canadian passports currently enter visa-free for stays days, and so do Australian and New Zealand ones. Per order we confirm that your entry date plus your fair days plus these 3 days all sit within 30 days. The current policy runs through December 31, 2026, so a departure on or before December 29, 2026 finishes inside the window; later departures are quoted only after the official renewal is announced.
- US passports with a visa: if you hold a Chinese business or tourist visa, including a ten-year multiple-entry one, these three days simply count inside your permitted stay and no extra check applies.
- US passports on visa-free transit: If you entered China on the 10-day visa-free transit policy, two checks are made on your order and both must pass. One, the window is counted from the actual landing time of your entry flight, and the departure flight that ends this plan must take off inside it: the whole China stay counts, fair days included. Two, the first leg of your onward flight must depart to a third country or region, different from where you flew in from. Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan qualify. If either check fails, we say so before payment and do not sell the date. There is no workaround.
- Stay area: Guangzhou and Foshan are both in Guangdong province, and the day-two round trip does not take you outside it.
- A fourth day is a separate product: A Shenzhen day trip and a more in-depth Foshan day have been drafted as their own itineraries. Neither is included in this price, and neither is on sale.
- The day-three morning item: it is being sourced with its operator and is not on sale. Three things have to close first: the operator's acceptance and price, the English-language interpretation, and a calendar check against your exact date. Until all three are closed and named in writing, it is never promised, never charged and never listed as a highlight.
- Confirmation and changes: the confirmation-time commitment and the change and refund terms are being settled with our ground partners. Until they are settled, every quote states in writing the confirmation deadline and the change and refund conditions for that order, and no order is taken without them in writing.

We've solved the hard parts. Here's everything a first-time Western traveller needs to know before arriving.

### VPN & Internet Access

- Badge: Do this before you fly
- What's blocked: Google, Gmail, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and most Western news sites are inaccessible in China without a VPN.
- Download before you leave: It's nearly impossible to download a VPN once inside China. Install and test at home. Recommended: Astrill (most reliable), Mullvad, ExpressVPN — subscribe to at least two in case one stops working.
- Hotel Wi-Fi tip: Some hotels block VPN connections on their Wi-Fi. Use your phone's mobile data as a hotspot if the VPN drops.
- Good news: WhatsApp works perfectly through a VPN, so your messaging stays unchanged. Apple iMessage and Signal also work.

### Paying in China

- China is cashless: Alipay and WeChat Pay are used for almost everything — restaurants, taxis, markets, tickets. Cash is rarely accepted in cities.
- International cards now work: Foreign Visa/Mastercard can now link directly to Alipay (set up in minutes, $5,000 single transaction limit). Your concierge walks you through the setup on your first morning.
- Carry some cash: We recommend ¥500–800 RMB in cash for the rare vendor that won't accept digital payment, and for small towns.

- Do you need a visa?: Most US, UK, EU, Australian, Canadian, and New Zealand passport holders need a tourist (L) visa for stays over 10 days. We provide a visa invitation letter with every booking — it significantly speeds up approval.
- 240-hour visa-free transit: Citizens of 55+ countries (including USA, UK, most of EU, AUS, NZ, Canada) can enter China visa-free for up to 10 days if transiting through eligible ports. This covers our 12-day itinerary only if you have a confirmed onward flight.
- Processing time: Apply 4–6 weeks before departure. Standard processing: 4–7 business days. Express (3 days) and same-day options available at most Chinese consulates.
- What we provide: Visa invitation letter, hotel confirmation for all nights, suggested itinerary document — everything the consulate needs, formatted correctly.

### Safety & Practical Tips

- Is China safe?: China consistently ranks among the safest countries for foreign tourists. Violent crime against visitors is extremely rare. Cities have extensive CCTV coverage and a visible police presence.
- Emergency numbers: Police: 110. Ambulance: 120. Your concierge is your first call for any non-emergency situation — she has local contacts for every city on the itinerary.
- Health & medications: Bring a full supply of any prescription medication. International pharmacies exist in major cities but may not carry your brand. Travel insurance is required — we can recommend policies that cover China specifically.
- Language: English fluency outside hotels and tourist sites is limited. Your guides all speak English. We provide a printed pocket card with essential Chinese phrases and emergency contacts for every traveller.

## Before You Book

Everything worth knowing before you book.

### I am already in a hotel for the fair. Do I have to move?

No, and the plan is built so you do not. Your samples, your work surface and your fair rate are already in that room, so we start day one by picking you up there or at the venue. Both nights stay where they are. That is also why the two nights are not in the base price: you already hold them. If you would rather we book the two extra nights for you, we can, as an add-on priced separately when you choose it.

### Can you guarantee the factory visit on my date?

Not unilaterally, and here is exactly how it works. The factory sets its own visitor days, so we take your requested date to them and get it confirmed before we take your order, not after. If they cannot receive visitors that day, we do not sell that date and we come back with the days they can, so you choose from real dates rather than a promise. What you always keep either way: the full day is yours with the guide and the vehicle, and no order is taken on a date that is not confirmed.

### What actually happens on day three?

A transfer, and nothing else in the price. Your driver takes you to Baiyun airport or Guangzhou South railway station with time to spare, without a guide on that leg. We know a two-day plan sold as three days would read better; we would rather write the line and let you decide. One morning item for that day is being sourced with its operator right now. It is not on sale, not in your quote and not promised, and it will be named here before it is ever sold.

### Is Foshan a second city?

No. It is a 45-minute drive each way in your own vehicle, out in the morning and back the same evening, both of them inside Guangdong province. You sleep in Guangzhou both nights and no bag moves. Treat it as the same-city extension it is: the reason it is on the plan is that the morning tea, the temple and the lion dance sit there rather than in the city you spent the week in.

### I entered China on visa-free transit for the fair. Does this plan fit?

Sometimes, and we check it before you pay rather than after. Two things decide it. First, the count covers your whole stay in China, the fair days included, not just our three days. The window runs from when your entry flight actually landed to when the flight that ends this plan takes off. Second, the first leg of your onward flight has to go to a third country or region, different from where you flew in from. Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan count. If either one does not hold for your dates, we tell you before payment and we do not sell that date. There is no workaround, and we would rather lose the order than put you on the wrong side of an entry rule.
